Air Rally 2008

The Classic Air Challenge

HomeLocal Weather

The task will be to fly to a flight plan at the best speed to fly of your aircraft. You will be given turn points at local airports and you have to calculate the time between each leg.  The challenge will be to locate and take photo's of ground references along each leg defined by a simple description and reference photo.  Each pilot and crew will have to execute there flight plan at the best speed while taking into account the difficulty of locating the ground references. The tasks are unique so team flying may or may not work and you don't get your task until 15 minutes before take-off roll.  After completing the tasks, it's a dash back to Oxford to stop the clock when you  touch down. Afterwards, it a buffet dinner in our hanger, a few prizes and some relaxing tales of days flights.

Getting lost should not be a factor as the tasks will share turn points and ground references.  This will be great for the new cross country pilots to get practice and the GPS can't help you!
